Pre-Tour

9 July

Taking Rick's Recommendation

With an entire day to ourselves before our official tour started, we turned to our Paris guidebook for recommendations on what
to do. Based on our shared interest in art,
we chose a full day excursion with Fat Tire Tours.  After a quick croissant at our hotel we began our walk past the Eiffel Tower
(of course we stopped to take a picture)
to the Fat Tire Tours office.

Monet's Garden
Bike Tour

We kicked off our trip with all things Monet and had an amazing time. During our chartered bus ride to Vernon our guides covered a general history of Monet and his impact on the Impressionist movement.

Once we arrived, we were given bikes and

free range of the local farmers market to shop for our upcoming lunch. This was such an amazing and authentic experience.

We had the opportunity to connect with locals and other tourists along the way.

With a baguette, cheese, and cider secure in our bike's wire basket, we made our way

to a lovely spot in the park where we picnicked on the bank of the Seine.

Our journey began after lunch. We peddled our way though the french countryside to Giverny and explored Monet's house,
gardens and ponds. On the way back we stopped to visit his gravesite, and
pay our respects.

Enjoying Our Own Company

We returned back to Paris in time to catch an early (well, early by French standards) dinner, we sat, we dined, we laughed, we talked, and we definitely enjoyed dessert.
